Pastor Turner & Family

Rev. James Turner, while at the Friendship Baptist Church of Yorba Linda, California, under the leadership of Bishop James D. Carrington, received his call to the preaching ministry and was licensed to preach the Gospel.  He is a man called by God and is passionate about preaching and teaching the Word of God to all people.

As an Associate Minister at Friendship Baptist Church he has served as Director of the Men’s Ministry where he oversaw the spiritual growth and training of men through Bible Study, monthly fellowships, the RHEMA Men’s Conference and other various avenues that challenge men to grow as Disciples of Christ.  As a teacher of God’s Word, Rev. Turner is faithful to the teaching ministry to equip the saints of God. He has faithfully taught weekly Bible Studies and works diligently to rightly divide the Word of Truth. Also, Rev. Turner has worked with the Youth Ministry of Friendship often sharing his ministry gifts at the yearly Youth Retreat and he has shared the Word of God at several conferences. In addition, Rev. Turner leads a new ministry, Eastvale Bible Church, and its mission is to start a movement for Christ in the Eastvale/Corona/Norco area by “Preaching, Teaching and Reaching in the name of Jesus.”

A graduate of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Rev. Turner has worked in the criminal justice system for the last 24 years.  Through his hands on experience in his field, Rev. Turner has gained unique insight into the challenges facing the church in the 21st century. He has firsthand knowledge of the needs of those underserved in our communities, and is compelled to make a difference in their lives for the cause of Christ.

Rev. Turner has also studied theology at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Brea, California. He is the husband of Deidra Turner and they have three children. Rev Turner possesses a servant’s heart and attempts to live out the life of Christ he proclaims on a daily basis. He does not seek to take credit for anything he accomplishes and his favorite response to any compliment is - “God be praised!”
